- 1 2/3 cups all-purpose flour
- large pinch of salt
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 1 egg, lightly beaten
- 1-2 drops of vanilla extract
Sift together flour and salt. Now, take off your rings. Add the butter in small cubes and use your fingertips to blend until the mixture is crumbly.
Stir in the sugar and make a well in the center. Pour in the egg mixed with the vanilla and mix with a flexible spatula. Add a sprinkle of water if the dough seems too dry.
On a lightly floured surface, work the dough together until blended and smooth.
Flatten the dough, wrap loosely in cling film and refrigerate for 20 minutes before using.
